How to Add Observation Forms in Kidsday

In Kidsday, we have created ready-to-use assessment templates to save you time, giving you the flexibility to choose a form that fits your curriculum or design completely customized forms tailored to your kindergarten’s standards.

Through this module, educators can generate automated reports and receive insights powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). These suggestions help identify next steps for child development, especially for children who need targeted support in specific developmental areas.

Steps to Create Observation Forms

1. Navigate to the Correct Module

   Open the main menu, click on the "Lesson Plan" option, and then select "Observation Forms."

2. Initiate the New Form

   In the corner of your screen, click on the "Add" button to open the configuration window.

3. Choose a Methodology or Template

   The system will prompt you to select the methodology you want to use. You can choose from our pre-built templates—complete with development fields and goals—based on:

   • Early Childhood Development and Learning Standards (Ages 0-6)

   • The Montessori Methodology

   • Finnish Education Practices

4. Optional: Start from Scratch

   If your institution follows a unique style or custom curriculum, bypass the templates and click on the "Start from Scratch +" option to build your form from the ground up.

5. Configure the Evaluation System

   Once your fields and objectives are set, define how children will be assessed. You can combine:

   • Descriptive Text: For detailed teacher notes and qualitative feedback.

   • Visual Symbols: Emojis or icons for quick, visual tracking.

   • Numerical Values: Formal grading or scoring for precise data metrics.

Tip: Once you save the form, it will be instantly available for educators to use during their daily routines to log children's progress.
